Dynamic duo attempt world record for Epilepsy

Queensland Teachers’ Credit Union Executive Manager, Steve Eltis and wife Sue will go to great lengths for Epilepsy Queensland when they attempt a Guinness World Record™ this Friday 24 October at Eatons Hill State School.

The couple will attempt to break the current record for “greatest distance covered three-legged in 24 hours”, in a bid to raise more than $5,000 for Epilepsy Queensland.

Mr Eltis said the attempt would aim to raise much-needed funds and greater awareness for Epilepsy Queensland.

“We wanted to do something a bit unusual to help draw attention to a condition close to our heart, as our daughter Sophie suffers from the condition,” Mr Eltis said.

“The three-legged walk seemed a bit left-field, and was achievable by us right here in Brisbane, so when Guinness World Records said it was an option, we jumped at the chance.”

“We hope to set a record that will take a fair bit of beating!”

The current world record for “greatest distance covered three-legged in 24 hours” was just set in London on 30 August 2008 and stands at 33km.

In conjunction with the world record attempt on Friday 24 October, Eatons Hill State School will hold a family fun night with a frenzy of activities, including the opportunity to participate in the three-legged walk with Steve and Sue.
